Part 145 contain requirements for few essential elements regarding: Facilities, Personnel (including requirement for Human Factors training), Tooling and Materials, Maintenance Data, Production Planning, Certification, Quality System and Exposition and Procedures.
The organisation can be approved for the maintenance of aircraft and components depending on the rating, e.g.:
- Class A – maintenance of aircrafts
- Class B – maintenance of engines e.g. B1 Turbine, B2 Piston, B3 APU
- Class C – maintenance of components other than complete engines or APUs (Auxiliary Power Units) e.g. C4 Doors, C6 Equipment
- Class D – special services e.g. NDT (non-destructive testing)
The detailed class and rating system (list of ratings) is shown in Appendix IV to EASA regulation.
How to Gain EASA Part 145 Organization Approval?
Your organisation will have to write, submit, and keep a Maintenance Organisation Exposition (MOE). Next, you need to ensure that you have a documented set of procedures associated with essential elements. Lastly, complete the application form and provide a compliance matrix that shows how all requirements of Part-145 are met.
